Accepting new online clients May 2024

My name is Devon (she/her) and I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.  Previously, I have worked in the mental health field as an addictions counsellor in Ottawa, Ontario.   During my time counselling in Ottawa, I had the opportunity to support clients and their families as they maneuvered their experiences not only with substance use issues, but a multitude of mental health challenges.  Substance use issues do not occur in a vacuum and this work provided me with experience working with depression, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and relational challenges.

Working as a therapist is incredibly meaningful to me.  It takes a lot of courage to share your story with someone else and I take that very seriously.  Together, we can unpack old patterns and stories so that you can move towards a more open-hearted life.

  • I am a highly sensitive person, or as I like to title myself - a superfeeler. From a young age, I felt things deeply and had a hard time expressing my feelings and needs. In a world where we are encouraged to strive, hustle and achieve, I often felt out of place and too sensitive. As I got older, I began to notice that this was a common theme – that finding safe nurturing spaces to unpack our feelings and experiences can be hard to come by. This has become even more clear to me during my transition into motherhood. I believe that being able to share our stories and innermost feelings with someone safely is an important source of nurturance and healing. My own experiences and meaning makings as a superfeeler have been the guiding purpose in my journey to becoming a therapist.

I consider it a profound privilege to support people in expressing and understanding their emotions and stories.
